Pictures: How to adjust rear shocks on Sedan

I finally figured out a way to get to my rear shocks so that I can adjust them as necessary/desired. I have the premium package and the reclining rear seats, so I'm not sure how this method works with the non-premium seats. This should works for the Tokico D-specs and probably for the Koni's as well (although I've never seen them up close to confirm). Any shock with a top mounted adjustment should be accessible this way.

Basic Steps:
1. Move rear seats towards the front (engine) as much as allowed.
2. Remove upholstery connecting seat to rear deck. It is attached by plastic guiders and velcro so just get underneath through the edges and pull out.
3. Remove the black rubber boot covering the shock.
4. Adjust the shock!

Pictures attached.

The rubber boot covering the top of the shock. It just lays there (it's not secured by anything).

Nice pics and info. I was thinking about getting the D Specs.

Interesting, I didn't know the shocks were adjustable. What setting did you change the shocks to and how is the ride? I would assume the fronts are adjustable as well, ideally you want a balanced set up.

Re: Pictures: How to adjust rear shocks on Sedan

I have the shocks set to 4 turns from full hard on the front and back. There are 7.5 turns available, so I'm about half-way in terms of stiffness.

The ride is slightly more firm than the stock sports suspension, but nothing where I can't (or my family) can't tolerate it. The performance is MUCH better so the trade-off on ride smoothness is well worth it IMO.

Re: Pictures: How to adjust rear shocks on Sedan

Is it possible for you to have a “stock” sedan ride with the G35 coupe springs by dialing in the Tokico’s?

Re: Pictures: How to adjust rear shocks on Sedan

Per GSedan35, Tokico said that the adjustability range includes stock (i.e. stock is somewhere between 0 and 7.5 turns). However, I do have the 350z specific shocks and I haven't been inclined to reduce damper by THAT much. I'm pretty sure that at 7.5 turns, I'd get a "cadillac" type ride.

Actually, I just discovered the way to adjust them so I haven't even played around with different settings.
