For stuff like exhaust you gotta stay away from brands like HKS and look at brands like Megan Racing.

I don't see why everybody is knocking the Sebring or other branded stuff that isn't a direct bolt on. I'm not backing the Sebring Tuning muffler just because I have it, but I haven't come across one person who doesn't like the sound of it. It's got several benefits and I'll compare it to the HKS.
1) Cost. $125 vs $400
2) Size. It's height is shorter, so less scraping if you're low
These next two are my personal preference
3) Nicer looking. Tips look better.
4) Different sound. A little louder, and more growl/deepness.
I wish I would have not bought the HKS and had gone with the Sebring in the first place, woulda saved me $220 ($65 for installation of muffler, includes fabbing up mandrel bent piping). Only benefit of the HKS is that it's a direct bolt on, but still, not like it costs a lot to get the work done. There are plenty of universal mufflers out there. Reason why they are universal is because you need to make custom piping. Typically they cost less than bolt on ones as well.
Just an FYI, Sebring muffler are common to find in Audi setups. It's from an Australian company I believe. It's no cheapie brand like those eBay mufflers, so don't get confused. I think people need to listen to how it sounds before they throw out that people need to stick to name brands that everyone gets. It gives people the complete wrong idea IMHO.

Oem mufflers
Seriously...don't just be one of the sheep that puts an exhaust on a car because it's the "thing to do". Put an exhaust on that you are going to like....not whatever is cheap. In that case, you are better off sticking with oem vs some pos universal exhaust.
You have a blank slate...choose your mods wisely and tastefully. If you gotta hold off and save for a quality exhaust setup...then that's what you gotta do.
First thing I'd do...clean the car up and take some pride in it. You have a nicer car @ 17 than most guys my age had when we were 17. Some guys here have some very tastefully done cars....heed their advice

I second that. I was getting ready to reply, then saw you already did...
Delaxan, as you know, this is an awesome site. I have been a part of a lot of sites over the years (12 years or so) and I do have to say that this is the most realistic honest site. Great information. Welcome and stick around.
