Car engine stuttering problem

My car has had this issue for a few months now. At times when I am stopped at a signal (not when in P but only in D gear) and the revs are idle between 600 - 900, the car stutters a bit. If jerks lightly at these rpms and if I give it some gas or put in N it seems fine.

Today morning the temp showed 15C and although I warmed up my car for a good 5-10 minutes (which I do always), it stuttered a bit at the first signal. At the next signal it was a bit more longer the stuttering.

However, despite the stuttering/jerking, the car never seemed (touch wood) like it would shut off or anything. My car has always been serviced regularly with no engine problems at the dealer from the day I bought it.

Could it be the cold weather? Could it be my uprev tune?

NOte that after the second signal, I drove the car at about 4000-5000 rpm to warm it up some more and at the next few signals it seemed fine. I personally feel its the engine/fuel being cold cuz after the first or second light it is fine.

What do you guys think? Any help/input is appreciated.

How many miles and have you had a full tune-up? Sounds like a tune-up/spark issue to me.

116,000 kms. I had a tune up for my mods only.

Car always serviced at dealer and spark plugs changed at 100,000 kms.

My friends here locally say it could be throttle body that needs cleaning. One of them has a 05 sedan and cleaned his TB when he had the same issue.

ya stop warming up your engine its bad this way, google proper warm up procedure, 30 secs in any weather then slowly drive off until warmed up

15C isn't really cold. That's 60F. That's turn the key and drive weather. Shouldn't really affect anything. 15C is when i roll my windows down and open my sunroof. 5-10 min warmup is unnecessary at this temp unless you really want the heat working before you get in the car.

For comparison, it was -8C this AM. I started my car, put my seatbelt , adjusted radio and heat, etc and then slowly drove off. Ran normally.

Is your CEL on? Could be any number of things from bad fuel, to a failing COP, etc.

You can start with some routine maintainence then. New air filter, injector cleaner, possibly even go as far as new spark plugs.

How dusty is the area you live? You could take the MAF out and spray some electronics spray on the element and try to clean it. A throttle body cleaning might help as well

Basically with no code and no obvious mechanical issue you should start from square 1

I honestly do not need routine maintenance. The dealer services my car religiously ever 5000 kms since day 1 when I bought it. Spark plugs changed at 100k, air filter (JWT) cleaned every 5000 kms and engine flushing done at about 105,000 kms (currently 116000) kms.

I've had this problem since 100,000 kms and only thing not done was TB cleaning so I will get that done soon

You could check the gasket for your manifold it might be a little shurnken and letting in cold air until the car warms up and the gasket seals the gaps. I had the same problem with my maxima it only happens when it's cold outside.I f your always in cold weather I would get it changed, probably a good time to upgrade to a 5/16 spacer should resolve your issue.
