Only 6 months I wouldn't worry too much. Just get it changed soon and carry on as normal. It will clean up fine.

Unless someone can drive the car and get everything warmed up to temp properly, this is a bad idea. This is how condensation forms inside the exhausts and rusts it up. Also not getting the oil up to proper temp can have harming effects as well. Idling will not get it up to temp enough.

It's better to let it sit for 6 months to a year and keep battery on trickle charger vs weekly idle only starts.
