Winter Time Cold...

hi, I have an 04 G35 sedan, and I only have this problem in the winter. My G35 has problems starting when its cold. I have to step on the gas to start my car. I'm not sure if I need a new starter or what. If anyone knows would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks.

Have your battery tested to see if it is performing as well as it can. My battery is "passable", but not as good as it can be, so on extra cold days it struggles a little to turn over.

you shouldn't have to step on the gas for your car to start.

Does your battery feel like it's struggling more than usual, if it's weak that would probably be a good place to start. I highly doubt it's your starter unless your battery is strong.

I had a similiar problem the temperature first dip below 32 degrees. After a week or so, and driving it everyday, the car starts up in the morning normally without any hesitation.

For a fuel injected car, it is certainly not normal to have to hit the gas to start it. Also cannot see how that would have anything to do with the starter.

Still get it tested. Batteries can go bad within a short time sometimes. It is the most likely thing that is the culprit, never hurts to check.
