You are correct. That's as good of an example as glare as you can get.

I've actually seen quite a few G35's with halogen headlights and retrofit kits installed and think they are one of the worse glaring headlight designs out there. The difference between OEM HID's and halogens with HID's is huge.

I know that some vehicles, with certain headlight designs are tolerable, but my opinion is the G35 is not one of these.

(referring to 03/04 halogen low beams...not fog lights)

this is what i consider glare, light reflections everywhere. I do not have that issue, and i do not have projectors and therefore will not have a super clean cutoff, look at factory 02-03 maximas for example, the have factory non projector HID headlights and have the same light dispersement as i do

It must depend on the bulb, because I compared the HID and halogen bulbs side by side before installing, and the chamber in the HID is in exactly the same spot as the filament on the halogen.

We all have reflectors, and my car has a pretty clean cut off, I beliveve this picture is of the factory cut off, mine looks almost exactly the same.

That's exactly my point. There isn't a standard for the H1-based HID. It's an aftermarket hybridization of two different bulbs. There is no conformity standard of these hybrid bulbs that garantees the product produced by one company is the same as one produced at another.

If you really think about it, why wouldn't the manufacturer (nissan, toyota, Honda, Ford, etc) simply use halogen replacement bulbs and stick to one headlight housing design? Simply remove the halogen bulb and replace it with a corresponding HID-replacement bulb? I have my theories, but that's a whole different topic of conversation here

Do I need to buy an adapter if I don't plan to use the HID bulb? I'm okay downgrading to halogen.

Just looking for a cheap fix to my broken headlight and don't want to spend $500 for HID headlight housing.

I currently have HID housing and I'm thinking to buy the cheaper halogen housing. Do I need to by adapter if I change from HID housing to halogen housing?
