That sounds way too light to me. Per the "How to Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8s" book by Will Handzel, a fully dressed alum. head LQ4 comes around 520lbs. A fully dressed LS1 comes in around 400lbs. That's a difference of 120lbs. Iron blocks weigh significantly more than aluminum blocks. A 90lbto 100lb difference in an aluminum V8 block vs an iron block is very comon.

RAWWRRR!!!!!!! Motors in!!!
I cant explain how easy this motor and tranny went it seriously 15-20 min to bolt up the motor mounts, trans mount, and Aluminum Drive shaft. Sikky has made a great swap kit with parts that fit and all the correct hardware for mounting.
Headers water pump and all accessories being put on tonight.
Hope to have chasebays come over and drop off the custom Mil-Spec wiring harness and have this thing running this up coming week.
Still have a lot to do to make it to Zdayz, exhaust and tune etc.

If you have any questions or need anything else let me know.
Thanks,
-Logan

yea every time i walk into the garage i get a semi. I should have some more pics up this weekend. Re mounting the rad support putting fluids in and holding chase @ chase bays at gun point so he will hurry up with wiring and PS lines and a fuel return line back to the tank. This thing still needs a exhaust and tuned and paint by the 19th :0

This is so awesome. I would love to do this, but I'm afraid I would miss the OEM exhaust note too much. I really was drawn to this car solely for that (and that rear 3/4 view) .

My friend has a C5Z and the sound is great. Hard decision, and to see people's faces when your G sounds like a Z06?

Is it just me or is an A/C line running to the oil pan?
