with the gas pump shutting off your vent control valve may be stuck closed.

vent control valve is that little black box looking thing under the vehicle. only way is to replace it. if that is the concern that is.
could that be the reason i got to give a lil bit of gas to the car for it to turn on?

to be honest...if your car was working fine before the pump, you shouldnt suspect that its a busted fuel system...try fixing the cheapest part first then, with process of elimination, work yourself to worst case scenario...
in my opinion, it sounds like the problem i had with my G along with other peeps on this forum when they disconnected the battery, had an ecu reset, or done anything to their car..
my solution was a two step process:
1. reset the ecu, idle position sensor, and throttle body

if problem persists, its most likely your throttle body having carbon build up...mine was caked. i cleaned mine and it she didnt hesitate once after
