2003 G35 Sedan with 150,000 miles...

for $6500 (clean title). Would you do it?

Being an ex-owner of a significantly modified 06 G35 Coupe for over 4 years (R.I.P ), I know these cars like the back of my hand. But I'm pretty hesitant on buying such a high mileage G35, although it is fairly priced. (KBB has it valued at $6850).

From what I've read, it can go either way at such high miles. I desperately need a car soon, but don't want to rush in to something that will become a nightmare. Any feedback from high mileage G owners would be highly appreciated.

well if its not going to instantly be your daily you can find a used motor with a lot less miles on it and swap it in. offer the guy 6 even. shouldnt have to spend more than 8500 total for car and motor swap which is still a pretty good deal

It's going to be a daily driver. Engine swapping... I wouldn't even consider it.

my 2003 sedan now with 145000, still run super strong. i think 6500 is pretty good to me. if everything runs great i wouldn't mind buying it.

just bought my loaded (no nav) 03.5 6mt w/ 140k for $8 even and it stills runs strong no leaks, everything works just fine and its still all original parts, just a lil valve tick, but i think an engine flush and other things will fix the tick.......... i say do it, especially if you have extensive knowledge

I'd offer the guy 5-10% over trade in. Have to figure there isn't a huge market for a high milage car at that price range (maybe I'm wrong).

I'd be more likely to jump on it if it were the 2dr 6mt with a decent clutch. If I bought a car like that I would have aftermarket written all over it. That being said, you could lower the sedan, put some nice rims on it, get an aftermarket exhaust or tips, and get a nice dark tint. If the car is already black...that would help. I would swap the rear light asap...i hate those rear lights (pre circles).

i had recently bought my car fully loaded for a low great price because of the miles.
and my car runs strong .

i say give him 6k save the 500$ to pay for things u may need to do to the car

such as

- oil change
- transmission fluid
- differential
- brakes / rotors
- bushings
- battery
- wheel bearings

and lil interior n exterior type of stuff...

good luck

I think it would be a fairly decent investment. The G35s really dont have problem areas that are major and the car should run beautifully. Have you driven it?

I have 165K miles on my car now- heavily modded - I have really no problems. I might have to change the compression rod bushings again soon but thats it. Personally I wouldn't be worried about longevity as long as when you drive/inspect it everything checks out.

If you do consider buying it - inspect the bushings thoroughly. Valve Covers for oil. Check the service records. All the usual stuff.

You can probably negotiate a lower price as well.
