Blose stereo

I was seriously thinking about buying a G35X sedan...Then I heard the optional Bose stereo and couldn't believe how awful it sounded...And what's with the cheesy orange dash-lights?

Re: Blose stereo

My wife has a new Audi A4 and I can't believe how bad the Bose is in her car. It totally sucks - boomy bass, no midrange, and no way to fix it with the tone controls. I can only hope that the G's Bose is better than this. She has a leased car and I can't switch out the stereo. We were both so disappointed in it.

The A4, on the other hand, rocks. But one Audi is enough, and I want the G35 sedan as soon as I have the funds.

Re: Bose stereo

There's an insiders saying that goes something like this:

NO highs! No lows! It must be a BOSE!

Re: Bose stereo

This is no joke. DO NOT spend a dime on the Infiniti Bose. I got the base sedan 6 disc/4 speaker setup in my '03.5 and it sounds way better than the Bose and cost me nothing extra. The Bose can be safely considered an "Anti-Upgrade". Plus, if you want to go aftermarket with really good stuff later, its easier to do if you have the non-bose headunit due to impedance matching issues with the Bose speakers.

Re: Bose stereo

There's nothing wrong with the Bose, it's a great factory-fitted system. There are better out there but if anyone expected a virtual symphony inside their car from ANY factory system then they're only ever gonna be disappointed.
Any true audiophile that cares that much about sound is gonna put in an aftermarket audio system anyway no matter what car they get so y'all should just get over it or whatever.

Re: Bose stereo

Maybe you're not into cranking your music. Bose systems are designed for people who are not into music, who listen to them at moderate volumes and feel that it sounds just fine. But if you're into music, it sounds like crap. They use very cheap components and you just cannot turn it up and have it sound good.

There are a very few Bose car systems out there that are actually tuned well. But the G is not one of them. Consider yourself lucky that this deficiency does not matter to you. For me, a poor sound system ranks just below poor power delivery and just above poor handling. I can drive a car that handles poorly fast, but I can't make a bad stereo sound good!
