Emergency Trunk Release

My trunk recently stopped opening...keyfob, button, everything. And to top it off my glow in the dark emergency tab broke off! Is there another emergency trunk release? How can I open my trunk? Please help!

I don't know if its the same for the sedans, but on the coupes there is a red strap hidden in the center of the back seat. Its in the crack where the seat back meets the seat bottom. If you pull that you can drop the rear seat from inside the car. Crawl in and pull the glow in the dark emergency tag and the trunk should open. Hope that makes sense

That happened to me although I had the glow in the dark thing. Couldn't reach it - need a 10 foot long arm - so I bent a wire coat hanger, reached in and flailed bout until it caught on something, then pulled and the trunk opened.

On 05 model there are 2 tabs to pull, in 03 I know the glow in the dark is impossible to grab by hand from the pass through.

Not shure your 04 is the same but >> My 05 6MT has a switch for the trunk door motor on the L-side when opening the lower glove compartment .If the switch is inop. unplug the switch from the back and bridge the two pins together with a piece of wire - it should pop the trunk for you .
