Exclamation Problem With Car Remote!

My battery died during the winter and since then my remote hasn't been working, i have a 04 g35.

i always have to put my key into the door to open it.. i tried replacing the batteries in the remote but that wasn't the issue.

does anyone know what can be the problem and a fix for it?

Same thing happened to my Mazda 6. One day it just stopped working so I went to Batteries Plus and they put in new batteries and were able to tell it wasn't transmitting so I just needed a new one.

Chances are the remote lost sync with the car. Take it to a dealership and have them reprogram it. Shouldn't be too expensive or take too long. I would assume its an OEM key fob.

Thumbs up

Remote mite have lost sync, Reprogramming is easy...
Steps From (http://www.programyourremote.com)
Steps:
1. Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.

2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard
Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder
each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.

3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.

4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press
the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming
procedure will not be successful.

5. If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side
power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should
flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).

6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.

this worked on my car. if this doesnt work. Maybe your key remote just went bad... found this guy that sells used ones. for cheap heres his link

Hope this helps!

Yep!

Works like a charm too. I've programed the G and another Nissan like this.

so same thing happened again... i misplaced my key fob so i was using the spare key and then when i found my key fob and went to use it, it wasnt working... so i tried the steps and after i put the key in the ignition 6 times they signals flash but when i go to put it to ACC and click one of the buttons on the key fob no signals flash... i'm thinking its the battery or just a bad remote?

damn i wish i found this great forum before!
After an accident on highway I brought my car to an Infiniti dealership for repairs, and they messed up more than they fixed.
I took the car home and my front windows would roll down by themselves about 5 minutes after I locked the car. Went back to the dealer and they would not even talk to me. Finally they agreed to fix it, but gave me a different remote that doesn't even have the trunk button on.
Bill Dodge - Infiniti, Westbrook, ME. Would rather let my car burn in flames than bring it there again.
