if they are anything like the black housing ebay headlights i had on my old civic about 6 years ago, the coating or something on the clear plastic flaked off and the sills didnt last, air and water leaked in

Your going to end up opening them up and doing more work than you wold just painting the oem ones. I would only say go for it if you plan on doing mods to the lights like a retrofit that way you will seal them back nicely and treat that lens because its far shyttier than the already shyty lens that turns **** yellow if not treated once every 3 months. Well maybe that just an issue with me.

they're fine but if you plan on keeping them for a long time i suggest 2 things, 1) black sillicone all around the seals to prevent condensation and 2) a clear vinyl protective film on the lenses as the lenses are more delicate and prone to scratches than oem headlights

^ the outer plastics are not a direct fit on the oem headlights

I have yet to see G35 headlights that are actually beyond wet-sanding

^have you tried sanding them yet? (I mean REALLY sanding them, starting with like 400 or so on a machine, and then moving up in grit)
