Question regarding fitment of mudguards from 2005-2006 G35 to 2003 G35

So I bought these from a forum member, and I wanted to put them on my G35 Sedan 2003 model.

Do I need to buy this small part that connects to the rear bumper for an 05-06 G35 to make it look flush?

If it does not fit, do I have to buy an 05 bumper?

I don't want it to look non-flush like this
(no offense, sorry)

I'm not sure what you're asking.

There are seperate pieces here.

1. The mud guard, it is the piece that looks like it is one with the bumper.
2. The Splash guard, bolts up over top of the bumper and is quite visible in the photo of the white sedan.

To run either of those on an 03/04 car, you need to have an 05/06 Rear bumper.

The first photo you posted (of the green car, mine) actually only has the Mud guards, my splash guards were not yet installed.

Thank you for answering my question 4DGS, you are most helpful

So to restate my question again more clearly this time it would be:

I want to install splash guards on my 03 bumper, do I need to replace the mudguards to 05-06 ones?

Thank you

Edit*

4DGS you can imagine why I am making this thread, just preparing to see if your piece if really necessary! Thanks

Quick answer is no, the 05-06 splash guards can bolt up to 03-04 bumpers, it's been done before; however to get it look right, you'll need to replace the mudguards and the rear bumper to 05-06, like the white sedan above, so the splash guards sit flush with the bumper. Actually the white sedan owner (NFSP) had a thread about 05-06 rear bumper swap, do some research you'll see the difference.

Thank you for answering my question.

If the 05-06 splash guards can bolt up to 03-04 bumpers, there will be a gap right?

I don't think the white sedan has a 05-06 rear bumper swap. If you look, there is a gap on the mudguard and splash guard no?

Thank you once again for answering my question

No offense to Ash.

Ash, is your rear bumper 05-06? And your mudguards... are they 03-04 or 05-06? Thank you. I do not know your username. I hope you can stumble across this post.

He did have multiple accounts but that's not the sole reason why he got banned. If you look through some of his old threads, that we haven't deleted, it will be clear why he was banned.
