Wow...replace the whole arm? That sucks. I think those arms go for like $300 each. You don't have any friends that could help you get the arm off and then take it to a machine shop for the bushing swap?

Yea I got nobody to help lol the part from the dealer is 175 each so I'm gonna replace both because my passenger ones not that healthy looking either

I changed all the lower and upper control arm bushings with the energy suspension bushing kit. It includes the compression rod bushing as well. Labor intensive but very worth it.

Vin you are welcome to try it out in my car if you wanna see how it rides with the energy suspension bushings.

What are the symptoms of a busted lower control arm bushing??

I had clunking on slow bumps. Also, my alignment got messed up because the bushing was no longer there on the control arm so I got some inner tire wear. It was pretty obvious when I checked...Looked like this:
Literally popped out! And this was on both sides

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know why the compression rods have those "spurs" added to the rod? They don't connect to anything, but it's obvious they have a purpose as they look like they were added for a reason

I think it hits a part on the hub to prevent an excess of turning. It also helps when you need to loosen/or tighten nuts without the hub moving around.

I feel like these are going to do the same on my car, it's a common problem and especially now that I have about 130K on my G.

^^ my inner bushings on both sides were shot just like this and I had no idea (no noise) until the tire shop noticed. Check your bushings! Also, I had been having some inner tire wear and new bushings (Whiteline) seem to have fixed the problem.
