2003 G35 sedan HID head lights
Hi guys, i have a problem with my HID head lights, it comes on and off sometimes, and now when it does come on its bright orange color, do you think i need to have this replaced? Is this something easy i can do my self? Does anybody know where i can buy replacement bulbs or i need to get a new unit for it? anybody can shed some light on my situation?
Thanks
Tony

Maybe it comes on because you have it on auto, and if its changing colors than maybe you need new bulbs, you can find em everywhere the bulb size is d2r and its easy to change you can do it yourself, i got mine from amazon for $20 and they work great, just because i wanted 6k...or it might b a problem with the ballasts...

Here is a vendor that I bought from, these lights are great! I've had them for over half a year and it's still bright as the first day I bought them! Quick shipping time, and an honest seller!

Is there a DIY guide on how to replace the HID headlights (low beams)? I already purchased them and was going to pay my mechanic to do it but I keep finding different places that say it's not that difficult to do. I would appreciate any help (I'm currently looking through search but not much has turned up).
thanks.
thanks.

yeah i actually found a thread that lays it out like that as well here:

there are also a couple of posts about issues that could come up during the process.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting that link...between that and the one I found I was able to knock this out (I finally had time to do it).
I wouldn't say it was easy, but it definitely wasn't hard. It would probably be an easy fix for anyone that does a lot of DIY work (I don't). The most tricky part was actually installing the light because it has these thin brackets...if I actually removed the wheel it probably wouldn't have been that tricky but I didn't.
Anyway I'm so glad I decided to go this route...I bought two HID lights from O'Reilly for $60 each. So I spent $120 plus 45 minutes of my time to do this when the dealer was trying to charge $300/light bulb!
