Unsure, I've never encountered that problem.

hopefully you didnt damage the circuit board on the radio..

 

Is this a 2003 model?

If so, sounds like the dreaded HVAC/radio board issue

 

yeah 03. my circuit board is shot. a/c is blowing full blast. damn.

 

good news and bad news.

engine is idling perfectly!!!

just took it out for a quick spin and the buttons all came back on and the radio itself works but doesnt light up as usual.

only weird thing is that the little orange lights next to the a/c button and like front and rear defrosters blinks. everything works but the damn buttons are flashing? anyone seen anything like this?

Aside from that has anyone tried to oven trick to fix the AC/radio board? (you know the same one we use to fix graphics cards and xbox) to re-solder everything
