Yaw/G sensor malfunction (VDC light on, Slip light on) Error Code C1145: need HELP!
Hey everyone.
I just got back from the dealership where I was getting an code diagnosis done because my SLIP and VDC OFF lights were on.
Error code is C1145 on the scanner.
The tech tried to reset the codes and the TSB instructs him to replace the sensor if that doesnt clear the lights.
Since the lights didnt trun off it seems I have to replace it.
The cost for this "yaw sensor" is $1357 and with installation it comes to a little over $1500.
So if anyone has a spare yaw sensor lying around for their G (I know that a lot of ppl have disabled the yaw sensor for spirited driving) I was wondering if you could help me out.
I don't want to and I can't spend so much money for this sensor.
As like most of us here I love my car but the high cost of this part really leaves me no choice but to buy a used part.
Please help.
The part number is 47930-AL700
Any input would be appreciated.
Also what kind of manufacturing years carry the same sensor?
Is it the same for an 2003-2006?
Thanks again.
47930-AL700
UPDATE 1:
Found a cheaper one on eBay (listing has expired)
Yaw sensor Bosch on eBay
Looks like this:
Even though the part number says AL 704 instead of AL700 I think it'll fit but since the listing has expired I'll keep looking.
Update 2:
Found another listing but the part number doesn't match up at all:
47931 JK00A

Found a good thread/post showing this sensor in detail and what it does:

Only downside is that its untested and used so I don't know whether it'll work properly until I get it installed (which is a $150 charge) so fingers crossed it will work.
Here's the link for the item:

Will the "VDC OFF" and "slip" light turn off after I install this part.
Dont the codes have to be reset with a scanner?
Plus I don't know how to take apart the arm rest.
If its simple tools like a Philips screw driver I can do it (i've never worked on my car and don't have any special tools)

To reset the code, you can just unplug the battery for half an hour. You'll lose all your presets and such, but it will do the job. Otherwise you can run to autozone, ask them to use their scanner and reset it.
Or, you can search ebay for a cheap OBD-2 scanner and never pay $90 to read a code again. Great tool to have if you ever plan on working on your own car at all.

Hi all. I am trying to change the Yaw Sensor as well but cannot get to it. I removed I believe all the screws but the cover will still not come off to get to the sensor. The gearshift cover I was able to remove but the Yaw Sensor is still covered and I cannot remove that cover. I looked for youtube videos and can not find anything on how to get to the Yaw Sensor, only after the cover has been removed. Any help or advice or redirection is greatly appreciated. I don't want to pay someone over $100 to install something that can be done in under 5 mins. Thank you for your help.
