I need your guys opinions!

when my car was having all of its problems I considered selling it...now that its fixed I still want to sell it. there is nothing wrong with it but I want something with a manual transmission because honestly I'm over having an auto.

I have been looking at g35 sedans and coupes that are manual but I still dont know what to do. I've been looking for supras but they are quite hard to find. do you guys have any suggestions on what I should do?

I love my g and I never thought I would want to sell it but it just isn't fun to drive any more.

Have you actually driven any manual G35 coupes or sedans?
You can get all the opinions you'd ever want here but ur best bet is to drive and decide yourself.
I have an 06' 6mt coupe and love it but the clutch can be a little tricky to master,
not sure if the later model G35 sedans' clutches are the same.
If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

+1 on getting use to the clutch, all i have ever owned is manuals and this one made me feel like it was my first one. i love the 6MT in these cars.

If you truly do want a manual and you know that, then that is what you should do.

It is what I did and I am not regretting it so far, but I still have yet to buy a 6mt g35. The last manual I drove was my 5spd vr6 jetta wagon, and the car after that was a 4spd auto firebird. I absolutely hated driving the firebird, my jetta was 10x more fun to drive.

In the end it is your decision though and you have to live with it.

Well my g/f has an '04 Sedan 5AT and I've driven it countless times for the 4 years she has had it. And I just bought my '05 6MT and can tell you its much more fun. I've always had manual transmission cars just cause they are more fun (No offense to those of you who have autos!). For me I honestly start to get too comfortable whenever I drive an auto since its just gas and brake, no shifting required. I personally need a manual otherwise I get sleepy :/

The stock clutch is kind of tricky since it engages halfway. I've gotten use to it by now but if it bothers you enough theres a DIY to shorten the clutch engagement so it feels like a normal clutch. In the end it's your decision. Maybe you should test drive a manual sedan/coupe in your area and see if you like it

i really want a manual car. i too find it more fun to drive. the first car i had was a 1990 vw golf with a 5 speed and it was awesome to drive. it obviously didnt have the power of a G but it was just fun to drive and i looked forward to going every where in that car. i dont have that feeling with my G as much anymore. I guess i will have to test drive one to see how it feels. im pretty sure i will get use to it over time like everyone else here has.

i would really like to find a toyota supra 6 speed but those are ridiculously hard to find. and they are pricey as hell. haha. but it would be so awesome to get one of those.

thanks for the pointers guys.

Yes, the clutch sucks ***, especially compared to bimmer or hondas.

I have a manual g35 sedan, and it's a blast to drive. It ironically feels (and is) slower in daily driving, unless you only want your clutch to live 10k miles. The enjoyment really is from feeling more in control of your car and having power exactly when and how you want it. And when driving on the track / in the canyons there is no comparison. The automatics with tiptronic still sucks ***, it's not the same thing. Especially when you downshift, then come off the brakes onto the gas, there still is that super annoying lag.

In the end up to your priorities. on the plus side, used manual cars usually are heck of a lot cheaper. but you may need to replace that clutch pretty soon after you get it, never know what kind of a driver is selling it.

I'd say get the manual if that's what you really want & what will make you happy.
The only time I would get an auto would be if it was a muscle car or something.
