mystery engine compartment rattle...help

So here's the issue. I usually hear this "rattle" right after i shift into 2nd gear and at low rpm's. 06 6MT sedan.

Also, when i shut down the engine with the clutch out the rattle occurs. However, if I leave the clutch in when i turn it off, the engine shuts down real smooth and quiet.

53K miles on car. Any information would help. Thanks in advance

I have video taped and used an audio recorder. Neither of those picks up the sound but in person it's very obvious.

Do you hear it at idle with the car in neutral? If yes, and it goes away when you depress the clutch pedal, it could be the throwout bearing rattling. Not a major thing, just annoying. My old Monte did that.

The noise is very common for the G and Z 6MT cars. It's a very noisy and vibration-rich transmission.

Yes, typically after I've been driving awhile and before i park it i can hear it in neutral with the clutch out. Clutch in no problem, smooth and quiet.

Do i need to be worried or consider getting the throwout bearing replaced?

I wouldn't really worry about it. Usually that bearing gets replaced when it's apart for a clutch job, so it may make noise for a while but will probably work just fine until then. Like I said, the old one rattled in my Monte for years and never gave me any trouble.

Trust me on this. I've had my clutch assembly replaced last year. The sound will come back. The noise is annoying but it's not a problem.
