Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

The Neon probably would win, but the driver better be strong enought to keep it straight. I bought my G to have class and be serious, not to be fast and furious. Would be kind of funny pulling up to one of those late night street races in my Neon SRT with 2 baby seats in the back. I would definately take them out for a weight advantage (they weigh a ton!).

Who would win at what? Drag race? Probably the Neon, if the driver's good, maybe the G35 coupe is faster, though. Road race? Depends on the driver. Autocross? Depends on the driver. Creature comforts? G35. Image? G35. Reliability? Unknown, but I'd bet money on the Japanese car over the American car.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

yeah...at stop on go races....quarter miles. I know that G can take them easy on the highway.....

so the sedan might have chance if the SRT driver is not skilled?

A missed shift can make a big difference.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

on a drag the the doge. on anything with a turn you will win. on the highway if he does not down shift you will win. The Doge will accererate better but has turbo lag and cant handle very well through twist. The G may not accereate as fast but tops out higher has not lag and can prefrom much better on turns. hope that helps

I dont think the g can take them on the highway either, judging by what I read and felt when my little brother tested one last week.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

Son bought one. It will be a close race with an auto sedan "G". Best tiem at the track so far in the SRT is 14.3 @ 97. SRT driver has to be good and get off the line without smoking the tires. They are only 6" wide.

BTW, I have not raced him yet.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

I saw one time slip of 13.94 @ 101.23 all stock in one of the dodge forums and its no way an auto G will run near that stock.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

i still don't understand the concept of a FWD racer.. if it's going to be a true autocross/rally car racer, shouldn't it be at least RWD or AWD? you gotta be getting some major torque steer and uncontrollable fishtailing during inclement weather..

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

It's competitive, but given equal drivers, I'd bet on an WRX over the SRT-4 in a rally.

Re: G35 VS NEON SRT???

But on a good note, for a $19,995 car those are pretty damn fast little Neons. If I was 16 or 17 and could only afford a $20,000 "new" car it would definitely be a black SRT-4, but I would take off that hideous “Fast and the Furious” rear wing off though.
