Hmm...Mine stayed at 2.5 after the Y-pipe outlet

That would definitely hurt performance if it's going back to 2.25. And would add to rasp.

But in any case, a 2.5 transition to 3 after the X-pipe has been shown to be the optimal piping for diameter according to Tony at Motordyne's dyno testing.

Great to see another person modding their exhaust.

Here's mine. It's pretty loud, so it's not for everyone, but I'm used to it now and like it.

Sounds nice. What piping and muffler(s) did you use for it?

We kept the stock cats and Y pipe and cut everything else off after that.

So now it goes from the Y pipe into a Vortex muffler, under the middle of the car, then 2 pipes straight back. We used the same 2.25" diameter piping as the stock piping was, with 2.5" tips.

not liking the ends at all...would've looked nice if you would've put some mufflers on the rear

There's not enough room on the right side for a full size muffler. It would have to be a long 4" Magnapack style muffler. Even then, it can't exit right out the back. It would have to be further back in the exhaust slightly, where the long piece of straight pipe is.

From the rear now, it looks the same as any coupe with an HKS exhaust does... Except dual tips on each side instead of single.

Here's an example:

We're still not done... I plan on painting the tips gunmetal to match my rims.

I was gonna wait until it was completed before posting clips.

There is a muffler that the Y-pipe goes into.

Thanks! We should be done with this on Tuesday or Thursday so be on the lookout for vids soon. It sounds way better than the coupe midpipe/HR ypipe I was running before
