I've got 175k miles on my G35 sedan. I'm getting a rattle from the passenger side wheel well that I'm assuming is the strut. I think it's safe to say with the miles on them that I should replace them?
Any recommendations on which ones I should go with?

Yes if those are the stock shocks they are in need of replacing. As far as the rattle I cant say that it's related to the shocks.
Tokico HP's are fairly common replacements. I've had a few sets and liked them.

if u want oem struts, go with the tokico HP Blues and stick with your stock springs.Originally Posted by mbridge

as far as the rattle. i also had issue on my my driver side, what seemed to be the strut. but dealer pointed the problem at the endlinks. they were replaced and the rattle was gone. (the noise seemed almost like my strut was loose. i would hear it over bumps and going into driveways or when accelerating hard)
i know that the 03-04 endlinks were much weaker compared to the revised 05-06 endlinks. i would point the issue on your endlinks.
just my 2 pennies

+1 on the HP blues - I replaced my shocks/struts at 125k and I've been very happy with them.
I had a rattle from the rear several years ago that was caused by the end links. Replaced with the revised links and it's been fine ever since. Front ones are still original on my car.

At 175k, your struts definitely need replacing. I have some OEM ones with 70k miles I can sell for cheap if you're interested

OP i wouldnt waste my time on these, not even as temps. infiniti recs struts to be replaced or go bad around 60ish k. you would end up putting more time than its worth in the install. if u wanna stick with oem just get a brand new set up tokico HP Blues. they retail for like 300 new.Originally Posted by ryanm8

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I'll take a look at those endlinks. While I appreciate the offers for used struts, I'm going to go with new, I want a little better handling than the stock setup. But I may be interested in those 350z springs. Out of curiosity, is there any requirement to change the endlinks if you use lower springs?

I wouldn't necessarily put a lot of weight into that... At 70k they still felt the same as when I bought the car. I only replaced them because I got a full 350Z suspension.Originally Posted by socialconflicts

But anyways, new ones are nice if you plan on keeping the car for a while.

With that many miles leaking could happen soonish but never know. Originally Posted by ryanm8

IMO 60k is way early to replace shocks and struts. I will admit to having waited too long at 125k, but there's a happy medium in there somewhere.
Edit: but I wouldn't put used shocks/struts with 70k on. They don't cost enough to cut that corner.

Exactly and it seems the OP wants to lower his car on springs... Too much trouble for old struts. I got my z suspension with 11k miles in it for 125 bucks. Originally Posted by jimNC

OP if u wanna do it right off the start just go with coils.
