BMW E46 vs 2004 Infiniti G35X?
if you want to compare the M3 and the G35 then get the M3 lol no contest
MY BAD!!!. I missed "NOT" in my post. What I wanted to say was that I dont need more power, i am happy with the bimmers power.
In my opinion, if you're buying the G for resale purposes, keep the BMW.
It handles better, has more aftermarket support, and while repairs might cost more, I have no doubt in my mine that that I6 will keep going long after you die. Will the G? Probably.
To be honest with you, the 325 has a lot less power, but it weighs less. I've driven both. I love my G, I really do. I'll be sad to see it go when the next car comes. But I've never driven a car that was so much fun with so little power (relatively). The gear box is better, the turn in is better. It may not be as fast, you may not be able to accelerate from 60-100 without leaving 6th, you may not be able to hang the tail out as easily, the e46 is a car worth hanging on to. There's a reason it out sold any other car in the UK.
Here's my opinion (again): Keep the 325. If it gets old, like you said, your family has the tools. Lead the LSX e46 swap charge. Buy the G, fix it, resell it. It deserves to live. But an e46 is too good to let go of for something that wouldn't replace it. The G is more like a 5 series.

There's no "might" about it. It will definitely have more repairs, and they will cost quite a bit more per repair.
Besides being completely irrelevant and extremely specific, it's also wrong, at least in 2010. BMW was tied for 4th with Puegeot in car sales in the UK last year, well behind Ford, Vauxhall, and Volkswagen. And the 3-series was only the 8th best selling model. Maybe you've got some specific time frame where it was true, but it's still completely irrelevant.
