BMW E46 vs 2004 Infiniti G35X?
I am new to this forum, Right now i have a 2004 325i and love that car.
Tomorrow I am going to buy a 2004 G35X, it has 1,20,000 miles, no nav, silver color, bose sound system, etc..
My question is: If you had a choice between a 2004 bmw 325i and 2004 G35X, which one would you choose? I dont care about the maintenance or gas prices.
I know G35X is faster than my BMW but the BMW handles and is more safer. BMW has a 2.5L straight 6, and G35 is 3.5 V6.
here are pictures of my bimmer:

how is the BMW more safer?
handling you are correct but your not being fair, you need to compare a 325x to a g35x. The AWD takes a lot from the handling compared to the RWD models. Still i would say the e46 should win in that.
Everything else should be in favor of the G, with styling up for grabs. Power and cost of parts to mod/repair is all for the G. MPG is up for grabs. the Manual trans on the E46 is easily better then the G35 but then again you are getting an auto.
i6 vs v6, normally that i6 are torque monsters but i think the VQ has just the same amount of torque.
Why aim for a X instead of a RWD model like the one you have? I wanted a 330i rather then a G at first. Cost to buy, insurance and the fact that we get heavy snow made me think AWD G, bimmer fanatics told me a bimmer should ALWAYS be RWD and manual trans or your not buying a real bimmer. I test drove a 328x auto and i kinda understand what they are saying.
Your on a G forum, most likely its going to be "get the G", vice versa for your BMW forum.

Thanks for the reply. Heres the situation:
The g35 i am going to buy tomorrow is for re-sale purpose, it has a bad engine. My dad owns a repair shop, we buy broken cars(engine, tranny) and fix them and sell them. This car is for $4500 and the engine is for $1500, and tow would cost $300-400, basically this car would cost me $6500 and i can re-sale it for $9000+.
my bimmer is absolutely flawless and looks better than a 04 g35x(JMO). I was just curious that which one is better because my dad wants me to have the g35 instead of e46. I am only 16, and everybody complains that he is spoiling me.
Hopefully i will buy this car tomorrow and when we fix it, i'll test drive it and see the results. So that was my story.
Also, can anybody guide me through the vendors and sponsors for body kit,etc.. Thank you

One more question(please bare my newbness):
Are coupe and sedan bumpers same(fitment). I looked for bumpers and the coupe ones are nice but didnt see anything good for sedan.BTW, i looked on ebay for them, please recommend me some website where i could look for body kit and other mods. Thank you in advance.

Wow, this is a no-brainer for me. The G35x wins pretty much across the board. Power is not even close, with the G having a +100HP edge (280 vs. 184). Styling is a personal choice, but I like the G. Interior quality is slightly in favor of the BMW, but it's extremely cramped compared to the G. It's got leg room, but no shoulder/elbow room and absolutely no storage space. And the BMW is not any safer than the G. The BWM may handle better, but it just gets crushed in power.
A far better comparison is a 330xi, although it also loses pretty big on power (280 vs. 225). My 2005 G35x is a better car than my sister's old 2004 330xi. That car was fun to drive, mostly because it was a little lower to the ground and had a 6MT, but my G was much faster. The BMW straight 6 is an awesome engine, but it wasn't until they put turbos on it that it outperformed the VQ.
