Wood In Trunk Under Carpet?

My car's carpet in the trunk is sunk and I was curious if there is supposed to be a wood platform or something to keep it flat and stable. If I put stuff in my trunk the carpet basically just falls onto the spare. I tried searching for it, but can't seem to find it. I bought the car used, so maybe the previous owner took it out for some reason and never put it back?

Thanks!

Yes, it probably rotted away or something. Take it out and see.

Just called a local Infiniti dealership...trunk floorboard for $136. For a piece of wood.

Is it really a piece of wood? Underneath my carpet is a foam piece covering the spare.

Get a jigsaw and go buy some plywood and make it yourself or go to an audio shop.

^ Pretty sure it's stock, man. For 05/06's at least. No wood piece I found anywhere:

Depends on if you have the full size spare or the temporary spare.

For full size spare, you have 3 peices of foam that build the trunk up slightly to sit over the wheel.

For temp spare, it sits lower, and there is a peice of stiff particle board that goes over the tire but under the carpet

^ Ah good to know Mustang, thanks.

Unfortunately 05/06's that came with the sport package could not have a full size spare.....not that I'm packing a spare anymore with the amps down there

Interesting. Well, I guess I'm off to Home Depot to make it for myself.

I have a temp spare in my 06 and there is only hard foam. Perhaps there is an 03/04 and an 05/06 version.
