Front control arm removal need help
I have already searched and found a couple threads that looked promising but I am still having no luck. I cannot get the bolt holding the back of the control arm to the crossmember or the nut holding the control arm to the spindle / knuckle. I have tried re-installing the lower shock mount bolt and jacking the whole thing up by the bottom of the ball joint and the bolt still spins with the nut with little resistance at all. The crossmember bolt/nut just will not budge. I have soaked it multiple times and have an air powered impact gun that goes to 250 ft/pound and it has not budged at all it is not stripped in any way either. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am stranded until I get this figured out.

Post #9 shows LCA removal from knuckle. Basically soak the think in PB blaster and wire brush the threads. Put the jack directly under the ball joint in the knuckle so that when you jack it up, you help seat the BJ into the control arm. Jack it up a few inches to put a lot of weight on it. At that point, you should be able to do it with a socket.
Impact guns, while nice, sometimes suck. I prefer a breaker bar here, and it's what I used. A pipe can help out as well
As for the inside, i've never taken one of, but i'd try a closed end wrench on one side, and breaker bar and pipe on the other.

I guess my impact gun sucks... breaker bar penetration fluid and a torch and it came off in two minutes . To get the one on the ball joint i needed to use a piece of wood between the jack and the lower part of the ball joint when i jacked it up, i have no idea why this worked because it was not jacked all the way up but it got the bolt to lock up for some reason.
Thanks for the help guys

Its sad that some website charge you money like 10-20 bucks just to answer a few questions by "mechanics" in the field.
Glad this forum helps everyone out without charging anything and that's the way it should be.
