Saftey Recall for 05 Sedans

Went in last Friday for the complimentary "I-Valuation" and the rep said there was a recall on the airbag harness connector underneath the seats. Essentially there is a possibility for the wires to become disconnected when the driver and/or passenger seats are extended completely back and forth.

All they do is remove the seats, swap out the existing harness for one with longer wires and it costs nothing so i did it. Plus people should start getting them in the mail this week, i got a letter for it yesterday.

On a sidenote, the "i-valuation" thing was actually pretty cool. All they do is check your car out (take about and hour and half) and see if everything is up to speed. If something is in need of repair obviously they will give you a quote however everything was good on my sedan.

Thought everyone should know. Oh, and the recall is for coupes as well.

Nothing new. If you were affected you should already have received a call, letter or email about it

It is worthwhile, it's just been mentioned before. Nothing wrong with having something like this posted multiple times. Your other advice is good too. I need to get mine in sometime for this, but the closest dealer is 2½ hours away.

New owner?

I'm guessing what happened was previous owner never had it done. You bought the car and Infiniti was notified of change of ownership (for this reason) and sent out the letter

Yeah, I got so sick of waiting and needing an inspection that I bought the kit from a vendor here and installed an aftermarket LED in my light. Looks stock...and works now!

Funny thing is the original works now. Been playing with it and it only doesn't work when mounted in the car...weird
