Car lurches/jerks when gear first engages (AT). HELP!

Car is a 2006 with auto tranny, completely stock drivetrain

Since I've owned the car (10months) I've noticed that most the time when I put the car into gear it will jerk forward (or backwars if in reverse) when the gear engages. This happens whether I put it in drive or reverse, about 75% of the time. I have my foot on the brake, put it into gear and it feels like the back wheels want to take off for a split second, as if I tapped the gas and then it calms down. RPM's never go up (iirc) and it doesn't seem to matter whether it's been sitting for awhile or if I just drove it.

It was never a big deal before, although it sometimes chirps on smooth surfaces such as my garage floor and sometimes I feel it lurches forward/backward when you first take off even if your as easy as you can be... Now however that I have to drive up on 2x4's to get a jack under my car, its a problem. When I'm done and go to drive off the wood, I put my car into drive (foot hard on the brake the entire time, no gas), and the wood shoots out like missiles and bangs into the wall.

Any ideas?

My wife asked why it does it. I said, "because race car".

I'll try to take a video tonight.

I have a 2006 G35x. When I shift from park into drive and then go it does kind of lurch away. However, if I shift from park into drive and sit for a second with my foot on the brake the revs will drop a couple hundred RPMs. Then when I take my foot off of the brake the car will take off smoothly. Try that out and let us know if that solves your problem.

How many miles? Ever changed Trans fluid? That's what I'd do first off.

I'm curious about this too as my 2006 does the same thing.

Mine was acting up but since I changed the trans oil, it's running smoothly now. It doent jerk anymore and it just feels better overall.

Be sure to use only Nissan auto trans oil.

i've noticed this as well in my 05. isn't really a big problem. going to change the fluid soon. hopefully that'll help. i know when i start my car in the mornings it revs kinda high (somewhere between 2k-3k rpms) and when i shift the rpms lower and idles normal but, the car seems eager to go still. SES light came on after stillen intake install so i'm thinking maybe i've got a vacuum leak somewhere possibly. it can't be too much tho because it doesn't idle really high. i've got the MD 5/16" spacer on it's way and when i install that i'm going to clean everything up really well and make sure all is sealed well. i'm sure a good cleaning of the manifold will do some good. maybe clean the throttle body as well. i'll have to see what everyone recommends.

I'll get the fluid changed and see if that helps. It has 91k on it so I've got a few maintenance things I need to get done anyways.

It's just really a problem now if I have to do any work on my car and the back wheels are up on 2x4's. The wood goes flying out and the car slams down on the ground (although funny, it's not good for my car or my garage wall)

My X has done this since new. I asked the service guys about it on one of my first service visits and they said it was normal. I just keep my foot on the brake for an extra second until D engages. Never had any trans issues, aside from slow shifts.

My 06x does same, fluid flush 10k ago and still happens. On a related note I also hear a weird noise when that happens, like a spring "boing" noise lol.

This happened to me after I got my tranny drain and flush. I brought my car to a transmission shop yesterday and they said my tranny fluid was low. They filled it will matic J and now it's fine.

Mine has done it since practically new. Every time you shift from D to R or to P, the car lurches a bit. Nothing excessive, but i've always chalked it up to Normal
