Long Road Trip question

I have about 42,000 miles on my 2003 g35 sedan (1.5 years old). Would a roadtrip to San Francisco from LA be a bad idea at this point?

Are you going to visit your girlfriend while your wife stays home with the kids? In this case, I think the trip would be a very bad idea.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I think you are concerned by the mileage but I wouldn't be - afterall you bought the car to drive, there doesn't seem to be any reason to avoid it.

Take the fast route (not the scenic route). Takes around 5 1/2 hours if you average around 80mph plus. 42k miles is nothing.

Highway driving and road trips are not that hard on your car. It's the everyday light to light hammering and braking all the time. Just check your fluids and enjoy the best v-6 in the world for 250,000 miles. It's just breaking in!

WHY are you concerned ??? Did you have your engine swapped out for a Chevy or Ford ? If this is a serious question, there is absolutely no way you should be concernrd for many years to come, as long as you always follow the service recommendations.
Buckle up and enjoy your flight.

I would only recommend Sat radio whether you go serius or xm. I really like it on a road trip.

Its a very good idea. I already took my 2004 on multiple trips from Ventura to Las Vegas and Ventura to San Fran. Its the nicest thing I ever enjoyed with my G35. You get to check out the accerlaration at the long stretch, the handling cutting thru the curves and you can even try the top speed.

The last one is not recommendated, its something I use to do 10 years ago. Now I just enjoyed the ride and the music.

Talking

These Japanese motors run forever, if properly maintained. My son just got back from a run to Lousiana, from here in northern California, in his 1988 Acura Integra with 240,000+ miles on it. Ran 80-85 MPH most the way on the Interstates, got 28.5 MPG. Said it runs better now than ever !!

I expect my "G" to run equally as long, but faster and stronger, of course

It's well broken in bro. Change the oil, check all fluids, make sure the tires are good and pumped up and enjoy the trip.
You couldn't have chosen a better ride for the journey.
