You need to remove this new paint ASAP. The OEM paint has a clear coat which won't be affected by petroleum distillate. Clearly tape off the work area and lightly scuff the new paint. Apply a paint thinner type solvent and use some elbow grease. Keep scuffing the new paint to allow the solvent to penetrate the paint. Take care not to break through the new paint with the scuff pad. It will take a lot of time to break down and remove the old paint.

Once done, you'll likely need to do a lot buffing of the orginial clear coat. Ideally, this should be done with a high speed random orbital buffer and various stages of rubbing compound/polish to restore the original finish.

 

lol i like how people think OP is capable of doing anything to remove the paint without resulting in a football sized whole in the bumper. also its been a few days already. anything worth doing i doubt can be undone anyway even if by some luck this guy is capable of it at all lol

I think what happened was the OP figured once the touch up paint dried it would nagically change colors and match lol

 

look at my debage.. clear come off when i did it.. idk why. but its fixed! for now lol.

is that touch up paint sprayed on or brushed on ?

touch up paint is good for small nicks and dings not large areas that mess has to look much worse that it could have before.

like others said if you did that I don't think you should put any grit sandpaper on your car. If you do anyway please make it 2,500 grit on a sanding block and run water from a water hose over the area while doing it with the good paint taped off.

now if i went to home depot and bought blue paint and coated it over my car.. i dont think that would work out that well... i may be in the same boat as the OP...
