TPMS replaced

Just wanted to let folks know.... I bought the Orange Electronic SCD001 Tire Pressure Sensors for our 2006 G35 and had Discount Tire install them and they seem to be working fine. I paid $30 each for the sensors (Amazon) and $108 for installation.

I have a damaged TPMS....I had my car into Infiniti a couple of years ago for a recall and asked them to check it out while they had my car. They wanted to charge me $80 to tell me which sensor was damaged. I told them to forget it.

After they finished the recall, they told me that they figured out which one was damaged for free then told me they could replace it for $264 + tax.

My regular mechanic just told me a couple of weeks ago that if I could get my hands one, he would install it for free. Maybe I'll give this a try.

Thats easy money and high profit for the dealer.... Amazon only has one left. ebay has them for $35.
http://compare.ebay.com/like/170732166462?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbarDiscount Tire told me they are only good for 4-5 yrs so I just did them all at the same time....wanted to get it over with. 30hrs later the lights still out :-)

I don't think that is normal. Dude if you want some i can sell you mine if you really want. They are just sitting in my room. Maybe need new battery if you can crack them open. I think you would need to program it to your car though.

You have to drive for a while above a certain speed for the TPMS light to come on. I don't have any sensors and it only comes on when I'm on the freeway for 40 or so miles without stopping.

Another Update!
Well, the light on the dash came on yesterday....I thought, well, I guess my bargain wasn't such a bargain. checked all the tires and turns out one of the tires was low! aired it up and ... "Out Goes The Light!" still happy with my purchase :-)

FYI
If your dealer wont reset for free. Discount Tire reset mine for $32 after I purchased a new wheel/tire/sensor package elsewhere.
