I'm not a mechanic and I've searched for days because I hate to start new threads. Anyways my G has no pressure on crank. I turn the key and I hear the pump buzz but when I try to start it I hear the starter (works fine) but takes about 3-5 turns of the key before it starts. When it does start the car vibrates hard for a few seconds but stops after I give it gas. I think it might be the fuel pump or the regulator but don't know how to test. The stealership says a new pump cost 460 dollars......i can barely pay my tuition right now......
If anyone knows what it might be please reply......also if an ebay product can solve this problem please let me know what it is/seller/link...anything is appreciated. Thanks guys

Ck fuel pump /regulater.
I threw in a used Walbro pump.
I also have my AFR checked out regularly as well.

Yes it can be the rings. What you need to do is a compression test for all 6 of your cylinders. Theres threads that will show you how to do one, its quite easy. This will help you single out which is the trouble maker. When you find that one (or two, I hope not) cylinder that has low compression, put some motor oil into that bank then crank again. If it shows normal compression similar to the other cylinders AFTER you put the oil in it, then its the RINGS.

Idk but tomorrow I have a full day of testing because I cannot afford a new engine right now! Ill search up the thread hopefully I can dig it up. Thanks for the tip!!!

your also very lucky because your fuel problem did not allow you to drive the car which means you didn't do much damage to it. I don't think it would be piston ring issue, sounds like a fuel problem plain and simple.
1. Fuel pressure test.
2. Try to find a scanner and have your AFR checked.
3. Don't panic .sounds like an easy fix it's really easy to have your fuel pressure checked

 

Yeah I have a beater honda that just started having a fuel problem as well! I buy good gas from chevron..I don't know why i'm so unlucky.
1200 wow that stupid cheap makes me want to keep my car even longer shes at 157k.

I have no bolt ons whatsoever but correct me if I'm wrong the walbro pumps nearly 3X the amount of fuel as the OEM pump I don't know if that would be a good thing. I found an airtex pump but haven't found a solid review about it yet.

Let me know if I should get the walbro or the airtex.

When i find out what pump to by ill get the guys there to check the pressure for me.

 

Just said F-everything grabbed my key went to autozone and did that shyt!!! So proud of myself right now finished the pump install in under and hour and 2 beers!

Can't believe I didn't notice how bad it was b4 now she's running better than ever! Neck breaking acceleration has returned and never been so happy!
