Intro/Build Thread

Hola everybody! I've been around for the forum for about a month now and haven't really formally introduced myself, other then to the people that I've purchased parts off of! So here we go...I'm Mikey P. and I live outside of Atlanta, GA. I recently purchased (or should say stole) a 2006 AT Sedan, which I adore, other then the damn AT, but being married with 3 kids...the wife has to drive it from time to time (also why I have the sedan obviously) I have a pop-charger and spacer so far (not planning on doing a TON of performance mods as I put over 1k miles a week) This weekend I will be tackling a JDM DD install with the PAC, video bypass, and a Kenwood DNX7100...all picked up through the classifieds of this wonderful place (with the exception of the wire harness and amp install) I have a couple 12" Audiopipes and a Crunch amp I'll be throwing in the trunk with this box to come shortly....http://caraudiofactory.com/20032006-...ton-p-382.html The chambers a tad smaller then I'd like at .88 cubes, but I figure worst case sencario, I can get a nice template, build my own, and return it

The last 3 cars that I have modded were ALL Jettas so it's a bit of a step-up, only this time I have to move a bit slower due to everything being just a bit pricier! I'm fairly knowledgable in general on cars, but also sold them for 2 years, so if anyone has any questions on book values, buying vs. leasing, etc. I'll be more thne happy to give ya a no BS answer w/ an explanation!!

In the future...sometime after Christmas and right around income tax season I plan on tinting the tails to match the windows, and running either the G37 19's, or some Vossen 20's...also might go with the lip spoiler just because I like the way it looks!

ya ya ya lmao...pics will be posted either this weekend, if all my stuff for the DD gets here, or sometime this week when it all arrives! I'm gonna try and kill two birds with one stone by adding another DIY for the 06 sedan DD, but include the PAC, iPod, video bypass, and all the way through the install of the amp/removal of trim! (assuming I don't get bored and stop taking pics!)

I got ambitious yesterday after an atrocious Packers game and ran all my wires for the amp install...I'm thinking about mounting it in the top of the trunk, has anyone had experience with putting it there? I'm open to other suggestions as well, just want to keep as much trunk space as possible (with 2 twelves =P) and obviously I refuse to have a gaggle of wires showing!

HU installed...mostly successful (I forgot to buy a couple resistors for the PAC)...looks liek I'll be ripping it back apart this weekend, oh well =) I will say that for future reference for anyone installing NAV, I hid my module behind my A-Pillar cover and it greats fantastic reception and you don't even know it's there!!

I would mount it under the hat rack if anything not the trunk. I have mine hidden behind the carpet on the driver side.

Nice to see another southeast guy welcome to driver!

Well I was thinking on the underside of the hat rack?? Are you referring to mounting it on the topside, toward the window and covered with the carpet? Any pics would be awesome!!

P.S. not too much good comes out of Bama, other then Julio Jones
