Mounting an amp?!
Just wondering where everybody mounted their amp? I do plan on keeping the spare tire just bcause when I travel with the kids, I prefer not to be left stranded! I would like for it to be hidden so I was thinking that I could mount it on the lip below the rear window, anyone tried it there, and if so did you have any issues? I'm very open to suggestions, just want it to be as clean as possilbe, even hidden...if possible?
I did consider putting this in the audio thread, but I figured this is more of a car-specific question

On the back of the rear seats is a good option with the sedan, since the seats don't move. Building a little shelf beneath the rear deck is an OK option too, just get some solid MDF and material to match the grey in the trunk.
I thought the back of the seat seemed like a good idea too, but if you the box I'm getting (if my link is working) it goes flush into that space where the seat slant back?!
I built a box to fit the angle of my rear seat, then mounted the amps on the ends of the box with the wires running behind the box.
The box went right up to the bottom of the rear deck and was pretty shallow so it sad deep in the trunk, sort of hidden. I used black carpeting and the amp housings were black (RF and JL) so you couldn't see them very easily. I like to keep things subtle and Iwas happy with the outcome.

I built a bracket underneath the rear lid after all...turned out great and the box is on it's way...once it's here I will take pics of the DD/trunk set-up and if there's a good enough demand for it, I'll write up a DIY for mounting it under the lid...surely isn't a hard task, but I know for some people it probably sounds "scary" without seeing how it's done?! Thanks guys!

That's mine was, but I had a monstorous box that left me with absolutely no trunk space so I ordered a new box this morning and mounted the amp under the lid...my first post has pics of the box I ordered, it fits snuggly behind the seats and is nicely cut out to look like it's flush with the wheel wells...needless to say, no room for an amp on it anymore!
