Shocks/Struts

So I have an 04 G35X Sedan with 106K miles. Haven't had any major issues, just standard things that go bad with a high mileage car. The one thing that I've noticed with this car since around 50K miles, is the constant crunching sound that I hear that sounds like it's coming from the suspension. It happens more so when I make turns or go over a bump. The car drives well and handles bumps on the road okay. It's just the slow turning on neighborhood roads that I hear the crunching sound. I had the bushings replaced about two months ago, thinking this was the issue, however I hear the crunching sound still. Will I need to replace the shocks/struts, and if so what does a job like this cost?

Compression rod noise? From front end at slow speeds I have the same issues. I'm at 70K.

I guess and hope it is the compression rod making the crunching noise. It's annoying and I would expect that a car such as the G not make that type of noise. I've had other Nissan and Infiniti cars/suvs that had well over 100K and never a noise such as my G makes. But I guess it's better than replacing the shocks/struts.

Its unfortunate but every car has its defects. I owned a 3rd generation Nissan Maxima that had faulty power window regulators. Every time each one failed, the window would simply slide down and had to be taped in order to hold it up. One morning, I found a window open after it rained. Not fun but I would prefer than over say, a fuel pump that failed over and over again.

Story aside, the compression rods are a high point of failure. Its annoying cause of the noise they make but there is no impact on drivability. I had my compression rods replaced at the dealer (under warranty) with revised parts and all has been quiet since.
