I recently got my 04 G35X about 4or 5 months ago and I love it I've done a few mods to it but here's my question... I know the car is about 8 years old now but I do plan on keeping this car for about 4 more years till I graduate college but the paint on the car aint in to good shape.. Would it be worth it respraying the whole car? There's a bunch of scratches here and there and a few rust spots pretty small but I'm afraid there will get worse .. What should I do .. I do live in the terrible streets of NYCC to ??

Small scratches you can get out with a good buffing. If you respray the whole car and take it to a place that will do a good job, you're looking at around $3k...

Is it worth it to you? Its not my money! I will be getting a large amount of paint work done to my '03, so to me it is worth it. I don't plan on getting rid of the car...gonna keep it and buy something else when the time comes.

If your looking at fixing it to get more money back in 4yrs, don't do it. In 4yrs it will be 12 yrs old, have a ton of miles on it, more rust, and since you live in NYC, if you fix it now in 4yrs it will look just like it does or worse.
If your not planning on keeping it long term and the rust isn't terrible I would just get the paint and the scratches polished. If the rust is really bad, bothers you, or if you want to ride around in a shiny ride, spend the money to get it fixed knowing that you won't see most of it back.

And definitely do not cover rust with vinyl as a fix. It will look like rust covered with vinyl and will continue to get worse.

Pics?
