has anyone had any trouble hooking up an aftermarket sub/amp (12' apline r and an alpine pdx 1600) to the bose system that's already installed?

i had put it in yesterday and it wouldn't work consistently. it would either work just for the CD player then as soon as i would switch to AM/FM it would cut out (almost like it went into a protection mode)

i do have the stock head unit in - i plan on changing it to a different one, i just dont want to do that right away.

 

There is a how-to written up on here that walks you through installing a sub with the stock Bose system, did you follow that? You may want to check out that thread and see if anyone else has had a similar problem.
