Why is Garnet Fire Red not a popular color?

I was originally going to order Garnet Fire Red but just never saw any on the road. I asked a salesman about the color and he said he feels there is too much orange in the color and he doesn't even order this color for his stock because people just don't order this color. I really like this color but I always have had problems distinguishing shades within colors and don't always trust my judgements with colors. Plus in reading this and other G35 forums, this color is rarely mentioned. My second choices are twilight blue and diamond graphite. Just curious what the people out there think about Garnet Fire Red and why it is not that big a seller.

I really like the Garnet Red. If I had to do it all over again I would certaintly consider it. Its a much better red than than the red for the Coupe IMHO.

Don't know...but I love it. It was our first choice actually. Can't wait to see it tinted with some wheels on it and lowered

Re: Garnet Red

I test drove a Garnet red sedan at my local dealership. It looked really nice. My only concern would be the tendency of red cars to fade a lot quicker. You have to be meticulous about waxing/simonizing and color protecting. Even if you are religious about the maintenance, red cars still fade with a couple of years...

It's actually just like my blue wrx, a sort of deep intense color. Being garaged and well taken care of, any car should last the test of time.

I have red with willow & love it. Really I am bored to death of silver cars on the road. Everyone who buys an Audi, BMW, G35, Mercedes, etc buys silver, I don't get it. On the G the chrome does not stand out unless you buy the black or red!

I am biased though as my last 4 cars have been red, they just stand out better & are differnet than silver! I like black but don't want to be washing evry day. Red stays clean pretty well. It also looks great with tint and the black molding on the bottom & around the glass as well as the chrome really stands out.

Not a great picture but....

My next car will be red.

No, not so anymore, since the cars are all clearcoated these days, my last car, a Lazer Red Mustang, looked as good as new after almost 4 years. I liked the Garnet Fire, but just wanted something different after having had three red vehicles, looked at a Twilight Blue, but the BS caught my eye becasue of the graphite interior, and chrome wheels!

I think it's a great color but it also screams to the cops "pull me over"

I saw a Garnet Red coupe on the highway. It was beautiful. Go for it.

Hertz here in San Diego has a really clean Garnet red model on their used car lot for 25,999 (20k miles).

Looks really sharp.

I like the red because it's unique.

we wanted garnet, but when we were buying, the closest one with the 6MT and the equipment we wanted was in Little Rock, a 7 hr drive. We settled for choice #2 - White

I've never seen one on the lot.

I'd guess 80% of the sedans sold here in Socal are the bright silver.

I ended up buying my second choice in color when I bought my 2004, Desert Platinum. The Carribean Blue was almost right, but uncommon. The only problem with the DP is that, unless you have the Silver one next to it, or you look at it just right, it just looks like silver.

I didn't want the dark colors because the Oklahoma summer gets hot.

I don't think that's true, I drove my Laser Red Mustang vert for almost 4 years, everyone always said the, but I never had any problems.

The way to see the difference, (I have been parked next to one myself) is the DP has more of an "earthtone" to it, the BS looks "bluer", if that makes sense.
