dyenboy: then it would be four pedals each if you count the dead pedal.

Re: A Few New Mods *Pics*

I wanted my shift boot to look like this but in order to do so, I would have to cut the lower centre console perfectly to fit the ring in. The AUTO cut circle is smaller than the MANUAL cut circle. There is also nothing to bolt the ring onto the underside of the console, but the AUTO plate does. I asked Infiniti and if I were to replace the console (if i screwed up the cut) it would cost me almost $300CAD since the console comes with the plate and the thing under together as a package. I am not willing to take that gamble and resulted in a more creative way of doing it. I think it's okay for what it's worth, but I like the look with the ring a lot better.

It's still a G thang!!

Rumble, I seriously like the shifter and manual boot treatment you did. Good job man. I am not personally into the drilled pedal look on this car, but you did a very nice job on those as well. Congratulations.

Sounds like you paid for the body kit, not painted sills. The body kit has a different shap.. the bottom flares out a bit on the front and sides, while the stock side sills curve under.

Rumble,

Who's car is this (the last pic you posted)? I'm wondering about the std DIN mount job and how easy it was.

Re: A Few New Mods *Pics*

Nice pics, especially the DP painted sills. I'm in search of DP/Willow sedan leather 6MT (no options) and when found, sills will be my first mod. Sooooo much better looking than that crappy black rub strip. Makes you wonder why Infiniti doesn't put 'em all out that way.

BTW...I like the look of your console better without the boot ring. Shoulda just gone MT, tho...

The car posted directly above (Not Rumble's) belongs to a Skyline V35 driver in Japan. I forget his name.

Re: A Few New Mods *Pics*

They put the black sills on because its motivation for someone to upgrade to the $2400 Nismo Kit if they want the body molding to match the car paint.

Re: A Few New Mods *Pics*

Hey Dan - remember not all of us want the bolt ons. I prefer the no spoiler look on the sedan and the continuity of color is more pleasing to my eyes than the harder lines of extended sills, chins etc. Think I'm going a bit soft in my old age? Guess again, I'm an aggressive driver looking for a 6mt...and need to stay below the radar of the local law enforcement. From what I hear, this car is a cop magnet!

Re: A Few New Mods *Pics*

Color plays a big part of the cop magnet theory, as well. Silver or platinum won't attract as much attention as Arrest Me Red. Plus, taking the sedan instead of the coupe helps.

I used to have an 86 Accord that was Medium Gray Metallic.. I used to call it Asphault Gray. I accidentally passed a cop at 45 in a 35 once, and didn't get pulled over.

Rumble -

Got my dp/w 6MT sedan 2 days, 600mi. and 1 big smile ago. Already stopped by my trustworthy local paint shop to inquire about painting the lower sills. They said no prob, BUT did not want to paint the (very) flexible black dust/dirt strips attached to each door bottom.

Can't tell from your pics whether you had them painted or left black? If painted, any issues with adhesion, flaking, etc.? Recommend or no? Thanks!
