Already cut mine, but thanks!

And That's a decent price with the console! I paid $360 Shipped without the console, but I bargained, and I'm in Canada.

Depends on how far you go. The most basic install would rate at 4/10, with 1 being changing your air filter, and 10 doing a clutch.

Though, that rating is flawed, because the confusing part for most people is the wiring.

In actuality, yo'ull be teaing apart both your old mirrors and the JDM mirrors, and making 1 pair from them.

You'll only actually use 3 things from the JDM mirrors.
1. The Motor
2. The bracket that the motor mounts to
3. The Triangular base

The rest is just re-used. You'll need to run 2 additional wires from the triangular base into the cab of the car, and up to the JDM switch. These are for the folding motor.

If you Have defrost and want to re-use it, you'll need to run 2 wires through the motor assembly (in the mirror housing) and out to the old wires on the USDM side.

Then there's my fiasco, where I installed Puddle lights, Re-Used Defrost, And am also wiring an Auto Open/Close triggered off the key fab Lock/Unlock.

That, would rate past my previous scale in difficulty. Sorry guys that I've been so busy and haven't done the write up for any of this yet, I still haven't had time to wire in the Auto-Feature relays, but the rest is done and waiting....

What prevents you from mounting the JDM mirror on the usdm door? If you use the jdm base triangle anyway?

Not 100% clear on this question.

The main 'cover/housing' is Identical for the USDM and JDM. They've even got the same part number. So you can use the one that is already painted for your car.

The Base of it is different though. It has a little pin hole for the motor that alligns it, as well as takes the actuation pressure off the mounting screws.

You CAN use the USDM ones but you'd have to dremel into the base to get it to fit, and there's no point in doing this, just use the JDM base (triangular piece).

Hope that answered the question.

If you were asking why you can't just simply remove the USDM mirror, and install the JDM mirror, the answer is you CAN.

The problem is, the mirror adjustment, as well as the type of mirror, are completely different. Because of the driver position being on the other side. So everything's reversed.

Your Passenger mirror glass is actually completely different than the driver side mirror glass also, so even if there WAS enough adjustment available (there isn't), you'd still have a messed up mirror.
"objects in mirror are closer than they appear"
This isn't because it's farther away, it's because the actual mirror is different and reflects items in a different way so you have a wider view from the passenger side mirror.

So in short: It will fit, but it will be pointless because you won't be able to see out of it.

You can order from Japan for less than half that including adding $100 to ship the item. I paid only ~$60 for my mirrors and switch (not including having my mirrors and jdm clock shipped). I had a member here buy off Yahoo auctions Japan and ship to me.

Could you just take the glass off and switch them. Instead of the whole guts

Yes but that doesn't solve the ADJUSTMENT problem.

Left/Right are different in the available level of mirror adjustment. Again, in the JDM ones, this is backwards.

So you need your USDM Mirror Motors, which is the big white piece.

If you want to use the JDM mirror covers/housing, you can just pop the glass off, remove the mirror motors, and swap the JDM mirror and motors with the USDM ones.

Then install. It's really not a complex job if you want it done in the most basic form. But, IMO, if it's going to be done in a basic form, then what's the freaking point

And in response to the PM I just read from you Neo:

"how do you feed the wires through the base?"

There's a rubber grommet piece that appears to be moulded to the base (triangle piece). This piece does come off, it's just a tight fit. Once you get that piece loose you can easily feed the wiring through.

You will need to remove the Base from the cover though (Tringle piece from the main Housing)

Hey tuner, How do you run the two defroster wires down the jdm motor shaft hole. It's like its solid? There know room to run it on the outside.
