Official "Random Airbag/SRS Light" Thread: Lets find a permanent fix!!!
#17
I went ahead and unbolted to passenger seat to find the recall that was done on the connector in question. No pics, but it was clear which connector it was. I believe there were two orange wires on one side of the connector and two yellow wires on the other. The connector itself was yellow and you can see the epoxy or silicon that was used for the recall along with the zip tie around the entire connector. Only thing i did different from the Silver85TC was I added dialectic grease to the inside of the connector.
Initial report from the first 10 minutes of test driving says that the repair may have been effective. Previously my light would come back on within 2 minutes. I will report back after a day or two and let you know how it holds up. Thanks again to everyone for the help.

What need to do is get the code and fix what it saids instead of trying to mess with the TSB.

I doubt the issue is from any sensor or airbag module itself, IMO it's just bad connection. Try unplug and plug back the driver side seat airbag, the plug is under the seat, so you have to unbolt the seat to get to it. Put everything back and do another airbag reset. If it doesn't come back on then you know you got it fixed.

Problem with my situation was that each time code was read it was an intermittent issue. It did not point to any specific problem. Hard to fix what the code says when it says intermittent.

Update: Decided to perform the same "repair to the driver side seat.
Unfortunately after unbolting the seat I found the dealer broke one of the tabs on the front plastic seat cover, but I digress.
For the first time in a long time was able to drive to work (50 miles) and drive home (50 miles) with no air bag light. Im not going to hold my breath, but rather knock on wood and hope that this may have solved my intermittent issue.

Yeah I had the same thing.
My airbag light came on after I box a 10lb box on my passenger seat. So maybe the car thought it was a baby and turned the airbag light on indicating the airbag is off. I ran the code and it was the no problem just clear it. I did it and it worked for a week. Than it came back on and I cleared it and its been 2 weeks. So who knows. I rather it be a invaild code than it say I need a new airbag. If mines comes on again I'm mess with the connectors under the seat.

It was for the passenger seat module. I can't remember the flash sequence anymore. http://psedog.com/cars/fsm/g35/sedan/2006/srs.pdf this is where I found the code
