Tranny grind in 1st/2nd

I noticed my tranny (06 g35x) is grinding under hard accel and it just started prob the last 1k miles. I just did an 8k mile roadtrip and prior I had my mechanic change my tranny fluid.

After reading the forum I am starting to think he didnt use Nissan Matic J as it was reccomended. Should I flush it out as much as I can with the Magic J to see if it fixes the probem?

This is Alarming, you cannot find Matic J any more, it hasn't been sold for 2+ years. I mean there could be some stock left over, but its rare. FYI

Do you have TPs or HFCs? Asking because cheaper or poorly installed TPs under hard acceleration will knock against the undercarriage off the line which makes it sound like a grinding but actually wasn't, it was my issue until I changed to resonated TPs.

Well I do trust my mechanic. Hes a good friend. So I hope its not them pulling the wool over my eyes.

I went there and they drove it, could not hear the sound I asked about so then I drove it. Lo behold it didnt want to repeat the sound. Could be a rotten heat shield hitting the pipes but im not sure at this point. Im going to have to check the tranny fluid level to be sure. Otherwise no difference in engagement or performance, just that irritating sound to make you irk.

Btw when should I change out the differentials? Heard it was between 60-100k.

^ 60k is a good interval, If you are harder on the diff 30k, Its about 1.5 quarts

seems to be one problem after another i have on my hands.

i few days ago i noticed my thermo reading H and my radiator kicking in louder than usual. coolant leaked out the top of the surge tank - realizing this isnt good. i thought it was a loose hose so i clamped it down - drove fine for the last two days and just after my last post i noticed it read H again - same thing all over.

i searched the forum and deduced it can be:
+air in the system
+thermostat gone to ****
+clogged somewhere on the cooling line
+radiator is busted

all seems good places to start except the last - i visually checked the radiator and it looked fine. my car's at 86350 and i had a coolant flush at 77XXX. im really dumfounded.

TP= Test Pipes
HFC= High Flow Cats

Since you're stock you dont have em.

The overheating issue is semi serious, Dony rely on the gauge, your engine is going to run hot way before it registers H on the gauge. Need to get it fixed asap its probably a simple issue.
