I think there are cheaper ones even. My friend bought one for $70 from Harbor Frieght I think. A 6 ton press. He welded up the joints though because he said it was pretty flimsy. But now it works great. You could probably find a decent one on craigslist pretty cheap too. And they come in handy for other projects, such as bushings.

I've read through your DIY a few times in the past. Very good write up but that's not something I think I'm ready to do on my own yet.

Anyone have any idea how much labor would cost to replace just the bearing and not the bearing/hub together? I know on the AWD the bearing and the hub come pre-pressed together.

Is it a pain in the *** taking the bearing off of the hub then putting the bearing back on?

Yes.

I've been trying to pull the hubs from my old bearings thinking i could recoop some of my cost by selling them on Ebay. Unfortunately I haven't been sucessful. I still have both of my old bearings/hub sitting in a box waiting for me to try it again.

That's really the main reason why i just bought a new bearing and hub and pressed them together myself so that when i removed the old one, i didn't have to worry about pulling the old hubs out. I just installed the new setup and got the job wrapped up fast.

A pro shop with proper press tolls might have an easier time with it. I've been looking for any sort of bearing press parts to help, but no luck yet.

If you are not handy with tools to do the job, don't try to do it. You may end up paying a lot more than going to the dealer. The dealer had replaced both of my bearing and hub for just under $800. Unlike independent shop, dealer stands behind their work. If you have more than one dealer in your area, shop around for the job.

Alright so it seems like everyone is advising against just buying the bearing and getting it installed.

Buying the bearing and the hub, then having them pressed together then installed is the best option it seems like correct?

Anyone ever buy the hub/bearing together online? Where did you get it from and how much was it?

I can't find the hub anywhere on RockAuto.

You won't find them pre-pressed.

Bearing you can get from rock-auto. (The timkin is a repackaged NTN OEM bearing). I got my hubs from the infiniti wholesalers on Ebay. Much cheaper than dealer.

Pressing them together should cost you $5-10 or so if you don't have access to a press. Most shops can do it for you easily.

Alright so it looks like I'm gonna go with the BM500013 Timkin bearing from RockAuto. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction (preferably a link) of the proper hub to buy?

Sorry but I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff, especially parts and do not want to risk not getting the right part!

Thank you!

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Mustang you can find a lot of bearings already pressed in the hubs, here's a link to OC Infiniti with them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/INFINITI-G35...c522f7&vxp=mtr

And here's one cheaper with a one year warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-WHEEL-HU...ht_1858wt_1346

Those are front RWD bearing/hubs which I think are an assembly, and do not separate.

I was referring to the AWD bearings since the OP is looking for a replacement right front bearing on his 06x.

EDIT: I stand correctly. There is a vendor pressing these together and selling as a unit. Decent price too
