For OEM Rays 19's. I have 255/40/19 and 225/35/19 in the gaurage... Is running different circumference tires a good idea, stupid idea or it just doesn't matter??? will the car look goofy with smaller tires on the front? All opinions and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Depends how you drive... If you plan to do any auto-x or circuit I really recommend 245 on the front to help with the understeer. Otherwise your 255/225 would be fine for everyday use

I probably wont be going to the track at all so I guess the widths wont be an issue. Any ideas on the 35 series in the front and 40 in the back? I guess from the "cosmetic" perspective... I'm not sure if it will look good. When putting the 35 and 40 next to each other the 40 is a lot taller than I expected.

Do 255/40 on the back. I believe the 255/35 will throw off your vdc to much.

^^You're right. For VDC to be happy on our cars the diameter of the tires F/R must stay w/in 3% of each other of the VDC will flip out. The sizes you have are 1.8" different or 7% so they won't work.

ok sorry if i wasnt clear on what was going where i guess i put the numbers in the wrong order in the previous post... the front is going to get 225/35/19 and the back is getting the 255/40/19. Was just wondering if running the smaller size diameter tire in the front 225/35/19 would cause a problem. Jairen does you speedo react differently with the smaller series in the front?

Unless the VDC is programmed differently for the sedans, a 35 profile shouldn't be an issue. I ran 245/255x35 for over a year.

James it doesn't look like it. I'll be starting a new job soon and don't think I can get off for a week in Sept.

Sorry about that Blue Dream that was very useful info. Jairen, have you noticed your vdc acting up with the 35/40 set up? Herrscraft questioned if its different for the sedans... anyone know anything about that? i guess for now its a no go on these tires.
