Well its out there. Like recently a guy who took his camaro to the dealership, they beat it to hell. They ended up burning the clutch and charged the guy for a new one. It was on the news

I got lucky in that one of our local forums named one particular dealership that had a service manager who was undoubtedly "one of the good ones." It was a no brainer to take the car there to get work done properly, promptly and professionally. They raved about this guy. I had to get some minor work done and he did not disappoint. He also took some interest in the car- and he had an appreciation for the modded platform.

Though nightmare stealerships certainly exist (like the dealer 1 city over 20 minutes away) you can definitely minimize your drama by turning to your local enthusiast forum or even this broader Driver community!

We have a vendor feedback section. Sometimes I wonder if the regional section should have a dealership feedback section.

Honestly I think it's probably coincidence but there is definitely the possibility.

Quick Autozone Question

I just bought 5 qts of GC + Bosch filter for $34.

The deal ends in 2 days.

Is this really a good price so i can buy some and use them later.

Or do they have similar deals on Castrol all the time? No need to hurry?

I am not familiar with their deals.

Should I use "battery terminal protector" ? Do you recommend it?

Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, but didn't you specifically ask about your loss of power and alarm issues and then found that the problem was bad/loose terminals?

Then you went to the dealer and they told you they were bad?

Maybe the order of events is simply out of order here, but if not, this is funny.

No actually what matters is the order.

1) I went to dealer for a safety recall.
2) They inspected the car for free. (Thanks I guess? ) and told me that I need to replace my positive battery terminal
3) And then I started to have alarm issues etc.
4) I found a solution to that problem by posting here. The solution was tightening the terminals.

Now It makes more sense, I hope.

Also idk what is going on but almost all of my threads collected under this thread. Am I not following the forum rules?

G35's are known to burn oil, keep some extra oil and when you do your changes try lucas with it aswell or any other oil treatment to extend the life it helps a little but if you have an MT especially youll be topping up that badboy.

Tune up and throttle body cleaning experience

Today I tuned up my car with 3M Tune up kit and highly recommend it.

1) First i sprayed one bottle of cleaner directly into the engine via throttle body. It took 15 mins approx.

2) Then i used throttle plate cleaner

3) Last step, injector cleaning and fuel tune up into the fuel tank.

During the process, my idle destabilized and the engine stopped a couple of times. I had to hit the gas pedal to prevent it from stopping.

SES came on, P 0102 aka maf sensor.

I just could not take off the throttle body, so i had to spray onto it. I am sure i cleaned the edges but not the back of it.

Results are still impressive. Idle rpm went down to 600-650 from 850.

Runs smoother, shifts better.

Im in love with my G again

However i am aware of the fact that it will be dirty soon because i could not clean the back of the throttle. I did not have the necessary equipment to take the 4th bolt and did not want to go through learning process for the TB.

Did any one of you experienced such a thing? With the same or a different kit/way?

do you have any oil leaks? If you have some and put synthetic in it, it's only going to leak worse.

I run synthetic in mine and I change my oil filter at 3k and top it off with oil and then change the oil and filter at 6-7k.

I would run conventional oil in your car and 10w30 unless it's really cold where you are.
