03 Infiniti G35 Sedan - Not a smooth drive??? HELP
Within the last month i've noticed that my 03 Infiniti G35 sedan feels weird while I drive it. I'm not a car expert so I can't really tell what is wrong with it. It just doesn't seem like the smooth ride i've been used to. I took it to my mechanic last week as my front tire was flat (aftermarket 18 inch chrome rims). My mechanic fixed the issue with my tire and replaced my front rotors & pads. I assumed the weird feeling was from driving on a flat tire but since he fixed it its a little smoother but it still doesn't feel right. What I really notice is this noise when I turn corners its like a whoop whoop noise almost like driving on a warped rim or something but my rims are in good shape. Does anyone have any suggestions why my car doesn't feel as smooth as it did a month ago? I was thinking I should put my winter stock rims and tires on to see if its a rim/tire issue or a problem with the car itself. I appreciate any help as I really don't want to bring my car into the Infiniti dealership as they will rape my wallet
** you guys were right it was a bad front left bearing. thanks for all your help. **

I don't think they made AWD G35's in 2003, but if they did and yours is a AWD Mustang was right on the money with the price. I dropped ~$600 doing just one bearing on my 04 AWD.
Only thing I can think of other than a bearing would be a broken caliper that is making your pads rub funny on the rotors. It sounds more like a bearing though. Or, and this would be kind of silly, your tires could be rubbing on something under your wheel well when you turn sharply with the aftermarket rims on your car.

If you drove on a flat tire there's a chance your wheel could be slightly bent, or the tire that's on it is just not balanced correctly. Did you get the same brand/model/size tire on the one that was flat?
I changed my own wheel bearings on my X, and it ran me about $250 in parts for both sides...so I did both for $500 doing the labor myself. Took me about 3 hours per side to do.
The OP claimed he wasn't good with cars, so I won't get into how easy a job the front wheel bearing on a RWD sedan would be. Parts are about $150 for the bearing/hub assembly, and then it would be whatever the garages labor rate would be or how many hours flat rate a dealership charges.

Its rear wheel drive. I don't know if this helps but this whoomp whoomp noise is only noticeable when im turning. If im driving straight my car feels pretty smooth unless I hit a pothole or bump obviously. I googled the noise a bad bearing makes and I don't think it sounds like that. I'm almost leaning towards my tires being the problem. They are about 2 1/2 years old now. They are 18 inch Lexani's and I don't think they were the greatest tires when I bought them as I cheaped out lol. I've heard that tires can become chopped and will start to make a noise. Everyone seems to be saying its a bad Bearing though so Im gonna get my stock rims put on for the winter and see if the noise goes away. If it doesnt than you guys are probably right about the bad bearings. I appreciate everyones suggestions.
Well, it's really just a suggestion on our part. We really can't be sure without seeing the car first hand. So you'll have to take our advice with a grain of salt and do your own work. It could very well be the tires.
I understand and I thank you for your help. Like I said I dont know anything about cars so any suggestions are much appreciated. Im taking notes and giving them to my mechanic. I'm just hoping its the tires as thats a quick and easy fix.
it had the same noise with the winter rim/tires on even worse actually so i told the mechanic it has to be the bearing and sure enough it was the front left bearing. my car is back to its usual smooth ride. i appreciate everyones help.
