04 Sedan MPG

Picking up a 04 G35 Friday.

I commute almost 50 miles per day, but still wanted something fun to dive with 4 doors.

Right now it has K&N drop in.

What would you suggest for better mpg.

Probably gonna going to get the plen spacer, but what else can I do?

On my V6 Altima i got about 1 more mpg from my Y pipe and intake. Would it be about the same?

More efficent exhaust, keeping the car tuned up, making sure the tires are at their rated inflation. And altering your driving habits to maximize mpg. I do think performance mods will help effiency if you can keep your foot out of the gas pedal.

Also I think a tune would help also.

I think that's kinda hard to say. when i had the jwt popcharger, hr y pipe and coupe mid pipe i was getting about 20-21 mpg. Now that i have the Sebring muffler ive been getting 18-19 mpg, i think i got 20 mpg once or twice since i got the muffler 2 months ago and that is with driving on the freeway for a long time.

I get 22-24 on 98% highway commute; 58 miles 1 way. That is driving conservatively most of the time at 75 mph.

I appreciate the feedback.

Will prob just do the hk y and intake.

There is a unichip for sale near me; but not sure how effective if would be with min bolt ons.

There is also an hks rep for $350 I could get.

Again thanks for the help.

I average at least 24 mpg on my 04 sedan with each tank. I have 132k miles on mine.

I'm getting 25+MPG consistentely on the highway. Other than staying on top of maintainence, the key was learning to drive like there was an egg between my foot and the gas pedal. Boring, i know....
