Give a gal a break....coolant question....

I've searched and I know it's on here somewhere but just can't locate it - I have a 2003 G35 - suggestions/recommendations for engine coolant? I ran out for a quick lunch errand and my car heated fine while accelerating; however, when sitting in traffic, it's blowing cold air.

It's 39 degrees...I don't want cold air! Ha! Heading to Advance Auto when I get off work and I hate dealing with those bubbas so I'd rather have a little info on-hand before gracing their doors. Thanks guys!!

Ha! Sorry....what's the correct coolant for my G35? I really don't want to rely on the guy in the parts store to give me the right thing.

Any quality 50/50 coolant mix will work fine. I'm sure there are those who will say only OEM coolant, but I have not had any issues. As far as your heater not working, it may be the heater core.

Gotcha....I thought it was 2 separate Q's

I'd say this covered it.

Any 50/50 mix is fine, half water half coolant. Dont let a dealer rip you off, any brand is fine its just a fluid.

Sounds more like you need to bleed your system, but if the coolant is low and good 50/50 will work just make sure to used distilled water (keeps mineral deposits from forming inside the cooling system)

For some reason I didn't see the bleeding suggestion by lilindienplaya in my notifications. Thanks for the info everyone!

Bleeder screw is on left side of the engine, it's a plastic screw on a hard pipe that I believe is going into the firewall. It's a bit hard to spot and explain, someone please help me explain the location better.

Hey gurl, get the car warmed up to where the needle is in the middle with heat on full blast, then step on gas an hold it on 3-4k for 10 seconds...run around to the bleeding screw and unscrew it with a wide fat flat head screw turning slowly until air bubbles stop and cooling leaks out. You don't need to unscrew it much and then repeat that process like 5 times to see if the heat gets hotter. If it doesn't get hotter you have a leak and I would say that radiator is shot
