LOL... I realize I never replied to this thread but it was the camshaft sensor which is located on the passenger side of the engine. Fairly easy DIY... Bought the replacement off of Rock Auto.

Did you have any lights or codes on to know it was the camshaft sensors?

Thanks OP You really shouldn't drive on bad cam sensors. It can cause major engine issues.

Exactly. They come on in light show.

I am having the exact same problem on my 03 G35, however there are no warning lights on, should I dismiss the camshaft sensor solution because of this? or is it possible that the warning light just happens to not be showing up?

If it ain't giving you problems consider yourself lucky and don't touch it. Can't stand that rotten thing.

Part of me says "If if ain't broke, don't fix it"

But at 150K, i've yet to touch a cam position sensor or clean the TB. Valve covers don't leak either.

(knock on wood)

When they say valve covers leak, are they talking about on the outside or the leak that pools up a bit in the spark plug cavity?

Both, but more commonly inside the spark plug wells.

Last time i looked (around 120K miles) it was dry.

I should prob take a peek now.

Now if i can only solve my damn oil consumtion problem. Installed a new PCV over the weekend. Lets see if that helps.

I'm down 2 quarts per 3K miles. I just carry a quart with me all the time and add it as needed.
